natashka's Diaryland Diary

amazing grace

i met someone. on the internet of all places. the weirdness only begins there, and i'm sure we've only just scratched the surface.

i've had a page up on plentyoffish.com for many months, just lurking really. i put up an ad that stated, "i like fucking" and received oodles of responses, but only two out of thirty or forty got the jokes in my little profile. one lived far far away, and the other was in his fifties. poo.

so i'm in the middle of moving, and i update the profile with a new postal code. a day or two later i get a message from some guy who gets the jokes, and asks me to look at his profile...

so i do. he's got a bunch of material in there about spam, dumpsters, the joys of living outdoors, etc. the shit is so funny my sides actually hurt. he's a great writer, creative, funny, and smart.

so i write back. we soon commence the MSN thing. we type and type and type. after a few days we start to get a little dirty (well i initiated it actually). finally i lose my cool, ask him for his phone number, and do the phone sex thing with him.

which is where i thought it would end. but no. we wind up in some slightly awkward post-phone coitus chatting and i mention in passing that i grew up in tsawwassen, and he explodes with a, "no shit!! so did i!! who do you know?" sort of thing...

and we're off and running. we have so much in common and like so many of the same things i'm not even going to try to list them. but it's a LOT...so i get impatient again and travel 500 miles to see him (i haven't moved yet).

i stayed nine days. best date EVER. and right now i miss him terribly. i'm leaving oregon on the 26th, moving to vancouver island.

i'm going home, sort of. i was born on the mainland, so the island is close. i'm taking a job that pays 4 times the highest annual wage i've ever earned in my life. i found a beautiful condo. i have a job that i've wanted for many years. i get to live in one of the last existing temperate raiforests in north america.

it's funny how things just explode with goodness sometimes.
